We have a ML530 with a Smart Array controller. I was wondering if anyone has Removed a Raid 5 set and condensed it to 1 drive. The reason behind doing this is so I can get a Ghost image of it.

what you mean condense it and keep the data in tact

cant be done unless you add an additional single disk and then use a third party to clone it type idea

With ghost you can create an image of a raid 5 set...
ghost will see the logical drive in the raid 5 set as a physical drive....

I agree with Petje. That is one of the new features I like about Ghost, the ability to create and image of a Raid. We use this process for a disaster recovery CD for our servers and it works great!!
