Hi,

My customer has installed windows server 2003 r2 Standard ed SP2.

The software I want to run will only run on either windows server 2003 standard sp1 and sp2 or r2 with maxmimum of sp1. Can someone please tell me the easiest option I have to either remove sp2 or remove r2.

Thanks in advance
MM

And of course make sure you have a good backup before you do.

If you don't actually use them, I would remove the R2 components instead of a service pack.

For some reason they are not showing in add/remove programs or I am looking for the wrong thing.

Show updates. If the box was installed as R2 SP2 then you won't be able to uninstall it.

Does the software insist it will not install due to this service level? You might be able to check which key it is referencing and then change it :)

Yes the box was installed as R2 SP2. From what I found online thats what I was thinking. Rebuild it is then.

The software will load no problem. Certain aspects of it do not work with R2 SP2.

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated.

Interesting. Seems like some antiquated software if the vendor can't support it on a platform that's been out for quite some time.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

Its Mitel, they seem to be slow when platforms are released. It will run fine just most of the options are greyed out. Weird. Thanks though.
