I need help with an issue i am having when exporting a fixed width file from CE.
i have a report with fixed width output. each record in the file has 250 characters and when it is less than the 250 characters.....it is padde with extra spaces to make it to 250.
when exporting from CE with any TEXT option except for TAB-Separated text, the extra spaces at the END is not exported as is and making the file useless since its NOT a fixed width file. the width needs to be 250 characters in length.
Crystal Enterprise has these text export options currently.
Plain Text
Paginated Text
Tab-separated Text
Tab-separated Values
Character-separated Values
Except for TAB-Separated text, all other export formats does NOT keep the fixed width on the columns. The extra padded spaces are truncated.
when exporting to TAB seperated text, it keeps the length but adds double quotes around the data......which is an issue.
i need to keep the width and not have the quotes around the data....have anyone come across a solution for this?
