Removing "Phantom Sets"

You folks helped me about a month ago with some advice on eliminating DN conflicts. It's working, but I'm running into a new problem. Basically, I'm freeing up all the 5xx DNs on my MICS in order to add a destination code that will pass any number in that range to another system over T1 tie lines. Changing the 5xx DNs to another range is working OK. However, I now seem to have conflicts with sets that appear to be in that range. When I look at the DN/Port in Mntc, the DN is gone. But I can still see a set with that number. When I dial the set, it's shown as "not in service". I know that there are no sets connected with these numbers. Unfortunately, these conflicting "sets" are right in the middle of the range I was going to use. Any clues on how to get rid of these "phantom" sets so I can add my destination code and get the whole range?

I am sure you have checked all your B channel Dn's...
How about hunt group DN's?

The best/easiest thing to do is to pick a range of numbers that you are certain are not in use to change all your 5xx to, (say 6xx or 7xx.. or actually any unused range of 100 numbers).
And then just change the entire range number for number.

(i.e. - change 500 to 600, 543 to 643, on up through 599 to 699)
I have found that when doing this - it helps to have a spread especially if you are just using a range/block of 100 unused DN's like say, 643 to 742 - you would just make a sread sheet using the series feature and keep track of your changes on that.)

I've gone through every HG and DN and eliminated all the 5xx's. When I view "Maintenance" > "Port/DN status" and go by DN, the DNs are all gone. I've listed the hunt groups and all 5xx numbers are gone from there also.

However, when I view "Terminals and Sets", I've got a bunch of sets (56!) in the 5xx range. When I try to dial any of these sets, I get a "Not in Service" reply.

None of them are alive. I've looked to see if there is a way to renumber them and have been unsuccessful so far. I just want them to go away. Any ideas?

One thing I have not yet done is reboot. Would that refresh the list?

I rebooted and it didn't help. All of those "not in service" sets are still there. Anyone have an idea?
