How do I stop a program from starting up automatically when Windows2000 first loads?

I keep finding sections that tell me how to make programs start up automatically, but I can't find how to do the opposite.

Check the Services that are running. Go into Control Panel, Administrative Tools and Services. You can set preferences there for what you want to startup automatically.
