Hi!

I've been searching yahoo.geocities and well the search engines in general now trying to figure this out.

Long time ago, prior to Yahoo taking over Geocities, I had a web site. The web site still exists and my issue is: 1) I want to remove it completely and 2) Can't remember the username/password to at least try and FTP in there to remove the information.

Did anyone else have this issue and where did they go? Yahoo doesn't give an email address for support or anything right away.

Thanks,
LS

Yahoo doesn't give an email address for support or anything

Try this:

1. Visit 2. Scroll down to the bottom and click "Help"
3. Click the "GeoCities" link

I found that clicking any of those gives help, and if the help isn't enough, there is a button that says "Click no to contact Yahoo! customer care".

I found that in about 15 seconds - so not sure why you couldn't!

I think I was looking for something more specific, like a link relating to pre-yahoo geocities users and what to do regarding the old information.
From what I'm reading, Yahoo locks you out of your old Geocities account.

You say it is still active. Is the URL still tilde something? If so, Yahoo is probably hosting it.

First, try the first part of your yahoo email address as the user id. I don't remember whether they automatically assign that as your account id or not.

Navigate to and click the SIGN IN button, leaving the other info blank. On the "invalid password page", click "Forget id or password?". You can identify yourself by your birthday and other demographic data.

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a shot.
