Can't see how to search for this on here, sorry - Newbie in a hurry. I've drawn an ellipse. I want to remove a section of the middle so that I can see through it. I used to know the tool for this on an old version, I'm on on Ilustrator CS and I can't find the correct tool.

Any help would be great :)

There are two ways of doing this..

First you draw a shape on top of the elipse, which would be the area that you want to be transparent. Then with both shapes selected, you go to your pathfinder palette and click "subtract from shape".. This way the see through part is easier edited.

or, with just the top circle selected, go "Object-Path-Divide objects below". Then just delete the top circle and the elipse has a hole in it.
