I needed to install Oracle on my machine so I could have a test database. When I installed Oracle it installed Apache 1.3 and now my IIS does not work. This is a problem since I use ASP.Net and ASP as my development platforms.

The problem I get is when I go to call up a page using localhost or machine name I get an apache error for specified module can't be found.

Thanks for the help.

Kill the apache process. If it's installed as a service, stop the service. It should be listed in task manager, but might be listed under an Oracle name.

You could also locate the httpd.conf file, find the "Listen" directive, and set it to listen on port 8080 instead of 80. This would allow IIS to use port 80.

Or use lgarner's approach, but don't forget to disable the service so it doesn't start up again on reboot.

It this a windows box?

Its a windows box but I haven't been able to find the service. I am wondering if it is a dll in the svchost file. I already tried changing the port to 8080 and that still didn't help anything.

Do you know what the file is typically called? Also if it is ran in the svchost or a typical exe?

I tried disabling the service from services and net stop at the command prompt. Neither seem to work.

Thanks

Cassidy
