I've just installed Reader 8 and had been assuming that when I update this program the installation removes the previous version. However on looking in my Program Files I find that obselete versions are rusting away there. I have files for Acrobat 6 and 7, Reader 708 and now 8.
I guess I should have uninstalled each one before installing the next, but I don't recall being prompted to do so. Anyway, I'd like to clear out the debris. Can I safely just dump the program files that are no longer current? If not,how should I safely remove them.

To remove Adobe Reader 8 from your PC, simply follow the standard procedure for removing a programme from your computer. Follow these steps:

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs box, click the program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.
