When I try to search Remove(ing) Norton I get:

Peter Norton, Author
Symantec: Norton AntiVirus

What I want to do is remove some norton "something" that I can not see on a drive I tried to format. It will not boot nor be recognized by OS less than 98, and a format in 98 will not "stay".

The 245 M drive is thought to be 234 M from fdisk even after removal of partitions. Quantum Drive ( DIGITAL )

The only thing I know is all of a sudden it no longer booted to 3.11 and I figured NO BIG DEAL ... I'll format that off and fixer right up ... Yea Right.

I know that Norton was on the drive so I figure it still is.

DOS , 3.1 , nor 95 will assign it a driveletter and in DOS it spins for a solid minute trying to access the mystery stuff on the " NON DRIVE "

I know I should have NOT formatted! But worse even I then used fdisk /mbr from a Win98 SUDisk in a last effort to purge the drive and re-partition.

From 98 once-only I saw hidden folders ... one called "Y" and one called "\OS c ", after formatting FAT.

Help!

As long as you formatted the drive anyway, boot to DOS and run FDISK. Remove the partition, then reinstall it.
