removing norton antivirus 2003 1

I want to remove norton antivirus 2003 but every time i do this my media player refuses to open my media files and i have to re-install norton.
Does anybody know what that is all about?
I would be most gratefull.

what do you mean "refuses" do you get an error message or are the media files no longer associated with that file type?

Could you give a few more details?

then you can load a good anti-virus like AVG
