I loaded MySQL onto a win xp machine. wehn the system did not let me in using a password, I unistalled it with unistall. Tehn when trying to reinstall, it would not complete and instead hung up on some error. I then used windows restore to 2 days back and it seems to be working. However, I would like to take it off my machine completely. Is there a way?

any help is appreciated

Thanks!

MySQL as many of the programs originally written for Linux does not spread files around your system like many win32 apps.

You can therefore

1) stop the server either from services or from prompt
c:\net stop mysql

2) delete c:\mysql directory

3) open regedit and remove all keys related to
-mysql
-mysqlab

If you installed mysqlcc then remove the directory

.mysqlcc in your default user's 'documents and settings' area.

Bye
