I have a version of MSDE installed on my local PC. I want to remove it as I cannot get into it any more (set up by somebody else)!!

In my Remove Programs list I have
Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis services
Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine

Can I get rid of the Desktop engine without affecting anything else (Enterprise Manager which I still need)?

Cheers

Jonathan

proably. but assuming you dont have the full database on your system, you can always reinstall the client tools if there is a problem. but i have removed msde's from systems without affecting the other ones on it.

The client tools don't come with MSDE. They are installed under the "Microsoft SQL Server 2000". The MSDE is the Desktop Engine. Uninstalling the MSDE shouldn't effect the client tools at all.
