In IE5.5 or IE6, I was wondering how you could delete specific items from the Address Bar history list. I know you can eliminate them all by clearing History, deleting Offline content, but I want to be able to keep some and just eliminate others.

You would think that you should just be able to highlight them in the list then hit delete to clear them out one by one, but that doesn't work on my system. Is there another key sequence that will work ?

Any ideas on the subject would be appreciated.
Thanks

Can you click drop down icon (black triangle), select individual address, right click to remove..Leave the ones you want to save..

nope, tried that, didn't work. You highlight the individual item and when you right click nothing happens. When you left click the link is selected, pasted into the address bar and the browser is directed to that site.

Maybe I just don't have one of the options set properly to get a right-click option on the items in the list.

Thanks, though

jackal63,

backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

Delete the ones you want in the right pane, but you'll need to fix the number order or they will not display any link under the link you deleted.
