I've got a customer that has a 3.0.10A Nam on a Mics 2.0 XC, that they periodically get a message in their mailboxes stating that they have fax messages in their mailbox. They didn't know they had fax capability and don't even want it, does anybody know what I need to do to remove this from the NAM?

I am not positive but try going into F983, OTHER, FAX.
Also there might be an option to turn it off in the users mailbox....maybe somebody here might have more info.

Louie, try checking under F983 for a FAX option, the manual shows it as being in the menu tree after CCR. It then proceeds to refer to the Fax users guide for details, but I'm sure if you've got that menu option you can take it from there. This is a NAM4 manual so it might be slightly different.

On the flip-side of the coin, I've got a Nam 4.0.4 fiber, and if anybody can tell me exactly what I need in order to add the fax capabilities onto it, is there a hardware board (DFC ??) that I need to beg Louie to pull out of his customer's NAM :) ? I've been tossing around the idea that it'd be nice to have here at the office but havn't found much info on it short of the bit in the install guide.

Thanks,

Just an update:

I pulled out the DFC today, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However I needed to pull out the daugherboard off of the BEC as well as pulling out the DFC. Then power up the NAM with the disable fax diskette. Worked like a charm.

Louie,

If you're looking to move that DFC, etc drop me an email. mcisar@starmania.net
