Hi all!

I tried to format my computer last night - I was running a dual boot of Win XP and 2000 and I just want XP on there but a cleaner version - with all the junk that I don't use deleted. I was going to delete the partition but it told me that there were hardware files that might be needed so I decided against it and told it to format and reinstall XP. When I was finished it now has XP, XP and 2000 as the boot sequence. Does anyone know if I should Fdisk and delete the partition and then reinstall XP to get rid of the dual/triple boots?

Thanks! VSProgrammer

If you don't have anything on there that you want then fdisking the partition won't hurt at all.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Great! Thanks for the quick response SimonD! Have a great afternoon!

You may have to fix up your Boot ini file too, unless you reformat and reinstall XP once more. Make sure when deleting any partitions that the hidden and system files, such as boot.ini, ntdetect.com and ntldr are not deleted and lost.
