I have a customer that periodically hits dead trunks because they disco'd several COs last year but never removed the lines from the trunk group (or whatever the equivalent is in this system). I haven't gotten to trunks in my Nortel training yet, so I would really appreciate it if someone could point me toward the right load to work from... or even better for me, walk me through how trunking works in the Nortel?

Thanks! Phonia

ROUT <cr>
ACOD <cr>

This will tell you what trunks you have programed. I would start by dialing the ACOD's (nortel for trunk access code). Flag the ones you get dead air.

Hope this helps.

This will tell you what trunks you have assigned. I would start by dialing the ACOD's (nortel for trunk access code). Flag the ones you get dead air.

Hope this helps.

After you get the TN's for the trunks, use your butt set to test each trunk at the Demarc to see if you get dialtone. If you don't get dialtone trace the cross connect to the phone company's blocks and they should have the phone number of that trunk written on the block, then check with the phone company to make sure if this number is supposed to be working or is it disconnected.

Clarifying question for Gumpus -- you provided 2 posts with almost identical info. Did you intend to change the load or req data on the second posting? Phonia

Phonia,

The second post was due to a slugish local internet connection.

Is the LD 21 command helping?
