Hi, I work at a carrier and we have a customer with a BCM who is moving over to us. They had 13B channels, and 1D channel with the old carrier, but are downsizing to 10B and 1D with us. Inbound calls work perfectly, but outbound calls from the BCM fail. Monitoring the D channel, they are asking each and every time for channel 13. The PBX vendor swears this has nothing to do with the fact that they had 13 channels with the old carrier, but obviously, that isn't correct. He says he "took" channels 11, 12, and 13 out, but the BCM keeps asking for channel 13. What can I tell him to look for, or am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

You would need to "deprovision" those lines from the BCM. I believe that is done under Resources, Media Bay Modules, Module X (whatever bus your PRI card is on), then open that up until you see "provision lines". Make sure 1-10 are provisioned, and 11 and higher are deprovisioned.

Also check what the B channel settings are under the Diagnostics/Trunk Module/BUS#/Module#/B channels ?

The settings of "Idle" for your provisioned channels and "near" for the ones not provisioned.

Biv343, thanks for this tip. The PBX vendor said that this was done. Redhawkfla, this is where the problem lay. He had left channels 11 thru 13 as idle. Once he changed them, no more problems. Thanks both for the great help!
