Crystal 7 - Can anyone tell me how to remove blank spaces from addresses, (i.e. provision for 4 line address - only 3 used in some)and slide left to close up long name forename, surname fields when shorter names apear?<br>I can do it in Filemaker - but can't find how in Crystal.<br>Thanks<br>Den

Removing blank space (sliding left & closing up) from reports

Trim(str) removes leading and trailing spaces, may not be in V7<br>LeftTrim(str) removes leading spaces<br>RightTrim(str) well, you get the idea<br>Put each line of the address in a seperate section of the same group, then format all the sections to suppress when blank to get rid of the empty lines.<br> <p>Malcolm Wynden<br><a href=mailto:wynden@island.dot.net>wynden@island.dot.net</a><br><a href= > </a><br>

MalcomnW - Thanks for your help. Have removed blank spaces (moving up) per your instructions, but still can't get TrimRight working for long fields. Have tried adding formula to field (Insert Formula Field)from the Select Expert, and from Format Field options. Where should I be adding this formula?<br>Sorry to be a pain - I've only just started with Crystal.<br>Regards & thanks,<br>Den
