We are looking to clean up our Goldmine records and have found that we have several duplicate records, records for people who are no longer clients ect.

Is there a way to cleanly remove them from the database without cause issues?

Thankx

Check out GoldMine's Merge/Purge Wizard - Found under the Tools menu. Be careful, there's no undo here so be sure you have a backup handy just in case.

Are you using SQL or dBase? If you have it on SQL you can look first at your duplicates like this:

select count(*) as HowMany, Company, SomeSecondField from contact1
group by Company, SomeSecondField having count(*) > 1
order by Company, SomeSecondField
