We have 12 backup analog lines on our PBX that come into play in the event that our primary and secondary T1s are not available. I would like to cut this number down to 3. Can I simply cancel the lines, or must I also configure the PBX as well? I can view the lines in ld 21. Can I remove the cancelled lines there and if so what are the commands? Do I need to make changes anywhere else?

TIA from this non-telephone administrator

You can remove the lines you take out. Go to LD 14 and remove the COTs from the trunk group you are removing (teleco lines) and found in LD 21. Just out the TNs of the ones you are vacating in the correct trunk group.

unkalary - Thanks for the info. I'm not a phone administrator by trade, so a lot of this is unfamiliar territory for me.

When going to load 14, do I just do:

OUT
TYPE = COT
TN = TN of analog line
?

When I view the lines in load 21, the 12 analog lines are first (1-12), "COT phone#". Then I have 13-46 are all called "WCOM_DI0D".

TIA

You have to make sure the TN you take out has the telco phone number you are disconnecting associated with it. Sounds like the 13-46 are used for WorldComm DIOD(which 2 way trunks-DIOD is -direct in/out-.

Yes just out the COT if that is the way they are built. Go to LD 20 and print the TN out to see what the type is.

LD 20

REQ: PRT
TYPE: TNB
TN: XX XX

Make sure the type when printed out is COT. If not the do the out with the type that is printed in LD20.
