We have recently upgraded our AV solution to Trend Officescan 8. We have been trying to automate the removal of AVG 7.5 pro with the MSI installer from Trend.
This works fine for Windows XP but when we try to run it on our Vista Ultimate laptops we get an interactive services dialog detection prompted by the AVG setup (The uninstaller)
When you click on Show me the message the screen clears and reveals that an uninstall of AVG is running but is prompting the user to click on Next. When you click on next the un-install proceeds visually and then prompts you to click on Finish. You then have to click on an Interactive services message box to Close. The normal desktop then is shown and you can continue as normal.
We don't want this to happen as it should be all automated as with the XP machines.
Has anyone seen this? Or been able to get round it? On the Advice of Trend we upgraded some of our clients to Version 8 of AVG and then tried again with the same results.
