removing a service from MMC

Hello,

I recently installed Cognos ReportNet on our Win2K server. This created a corresponding service for the application. However, I had to reinstall this application, but this did not remove the service in MMC.

I read somewhere that removing the registry entry via regedit will remove the service. I have tried this, however the service Cognos ReportNet still appears in the Services Console. Any ideas on how to delete this?

I'll ask a dumb question, did you contact Cognos support regarding this. I have had situations like this for example with Tivoli software and usually they have their own tools to remove the service. I would contact them first regarding your issue.
