I am in the process of removing a server from NDS(Netware 4.11). This was my first server in our network. I moved the Root and all other partitions to another Netware server. Changed all my clients to authenticate to just the tree without a prefered server.

When I pull this server off the network I am unable to authenticate either to the server with the partitions or to the tree.

Im sure im overlooking something but dont know what it could be.

Thanks in advance

you might need to designate one of the other servers as master replica type.

Hi,

Since this was the original server and users were logging into it, Is it possible that the other servers all have the following setting: "Set Reply to get nearest server = Off"

Lou

both NDS master replica and reply to get nearest server are set on the Server I moved the partitions to..

Hi,

If you do a "Display Serevers" on this server, does it see the other servers? Do the other servers see it?

What about the Protocols and IPX/IP address, are they the same as the old server?

Lou

all servers are seen on all of them. the ipx number is the same on all 3 local servers.
