I am using Premiere 6 and have 2 problems.

1. I used the razor tool to cut a clip, now I realize that I didn't need the cut at tht point. How can re-join the clip?

2. I have a short movie of dancing in Bali. At one point the dancer moves from a brightly lit area of the stage to a darker area. I know that I can increase the "Lightness" or use the "Levels" to brighten up the dark section, but the effect is like having a light switch on. I'd like to apply the lightening effect over a period of 2-3 seconds, and then decrease it gradually as he moves back to the brighter part of the stage. Is it possible to ramp the effect up and down using keyframes?

1. Just extend one part of the cut clip to expose the section prviously razored off.

2. You can keyframe the effects to give a gradual change.
