Hi,
I have a disk (hdisk7) that i need to remove (disk is producing lots of errors and need to be removed). This disk is part of a mirrored vg containing two disks (hdisk7 and hdisk8).
This disk is supposed to be hotplug
Can I remove and replace it (new hard disk) without stopping my applications and without umounting my filesystems?

How can I do? Is this correct?
unmirrorvg datavg hdisk7
reducevg datavg hdisk7
rmdev -dl hdisk7

After replacing the disk drive:

cfgmgr
extendvg datavg hdisk7
mirrorvg datavg

Will my data stay available (from hdisk8) ?

Thanx a lot!!
kat

My procedure will be:

unmirrorvg datavg hdisk7
reducevg datavg hdisk7
rmdev -dl hdisk7

diag
task selection
disk maintenance
hot plug task
scsi
replace/removehot swap device...

cfgmgr
extendvg datavg hdisk7
mirrorvg datavg

would you go into diag menu before or after removing the disk?or before and after perhaps?

thanks a lot.
kat

before
