We have an IP500v2 on R11.0 that we are going to be upgrading to R12.1. Unfortunately the system is remote for me; so re-creating the SD card is not an option, and I will have to upgrade it via Manager upgrade option. I know the upgrade can take some time because of all the different language files it uploads - so my questions is / what can i do to remove all the unused language files (only need US-English) prior to performing the upgrade, so that it doesnt upload all the unneeded languages / as well as speed up the upgrade? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

You can upgrade from one SD card to another. Send them a R12.1 SD card (doesn't have to be an Avaya card) and tell someone to insert it into the optional SD card slot. You can them remotely start an upgrade from the optional card.

I have never done remotely..
I have used this method on a SD card.
The info may help as it tells you how to remove unnecessary language files

The language files aren't those that take the longest time to upload. The phone firmware comes need easy more time. Instead of struggling how to reduce the uploaded files, I would just run the standard upgrade process. But configuring the file list will work also.
