Remove Titlebar with onload event & Check Search window in IE

Hi,

I am coding a page at work for use on the intranet and I need to firstly check whether the search frame is open in IE and if so close it. Then when opening a child window I want to have no "titlebar" (I understand this is called captionless?!?). Can anyone tell me how?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
