How do I remove the Outlook 2010 icon from my Windows 7 system tray / notification area?
I should clarify that I really mean "remove". I do not mean "hide". I want it gone. Permanently.
I have my system tray set to always show all icons and notifications, and that is how I'd like it to stay. I just don't want the Outlook icon there at all.
I could understand if the icon served the purpose of notifying me of new mail, but it does not - there's another icon altogether for that.
As for Outlook itself, I have the icon in the taskbar, and I'm happy with that. Therefore I don't need to see a second redundant Outlook icon anywhere (and please don't tell me to hide the taskbar icon instead - I do not want to do this).
For clarification, it's second icon from the left on the top row that I am trying to remove:
Thanks,
Dan
