HI,

A recent change to our BCM system has inserted a 9 before two analog numbers. This has caused an issue with one line in particular as it is used to take card payments. Can anyone assist by telling me where I go and what setting I change so that this one particular number does not require a 9 for an outside line.

Thanks

The extentions for the analog devices could have a hot line programed to dial the 9 and that is located in set programming under capibilities for each set.

Thanks - I checked in the capabilities for this set and could see the hotline drop down but it was set to 'None' I tried one of the other settings but I couldn't get dial tone so I set it back the way it was (to none) and was able to get dial tone but it still required the 9 to get out of the building.
I am not sure what has been changed to put a 9 in front when it didn't used to be there.....

The first dial tone you hear is intercom DT then the analog device needs to dial a access code or route to get a line if you insert a 9 in the hot line when it goes off hook it will dial the 9 for you you mite not hear DT after that then you or it will dial the number.

The answer to this depends on what type of trunks you are using. If you have analog trunks, or a regular T1, then all you need do, is set the hotline type to External, tell it to use the correct pool, in the external number field only enter P for a pause.

What I've done in the past, is to see if the system uses "0" for the operator. In the UK, "0" is the first digit dialled for national calls etc.

If the site doesn't use "0", then I change the dial "0" from internal to external, using the prime line and adding in a "9", or go via the routing table etc. This means that anyone who presses "0" by mistake can still make an outside call.

This method is also used when you have customers who want's their outgoing CLID to be denied or allowed, or to use a different least cost routing provider.

All the best
