Hi all!

I typically make new Project files using an older file as a template, but this information is captured in the File - > Properties window under the Summary tab. Anyone know of a way to remove this information (not selectable in the window) so it won't be shared with people who receive the file?

Thanks in advance,

In the display File > Properties which fields, specifically, do you want to clear?

There is a field at the bottom of the window that says "Template", but the entry is grayed out (cannot highlight). In my current Project file, I'd like to clear that field before sending the file but can't find a way to do so.

Start Project
Open the file
Press Alt+F11 to open the VBA window
In the bottom of the VBA screen (in the "Immediate" panel)
Code:
activeproject.BuiltinDocumentProperties(6)=""
Switch back to the MS Project file
File > Properties
the Template field should be clear
File > Save

Thanks for the info PDQBach!

With my file open, pressing Alt-F11 brings up a VBA screen that has 3 windows:

Top left:
Project - VBA Project
- My file is highlighted

Bottom left:
Properties - This Project
- This window has two tabs, Alphabetical and Category
- neither list has the code listing you mentioned

Bottom right:
Immediate
- this window is blank, even if I try to select a
field in some of the other windows

It it matters, I'm using Project 2003 and Visual Basic 6.5

In the bottom window paste the code, put your cursor at the right end of the code and press <enter>. You shouldn't actually see anything happen that's why I included the step to switch back the project and then click on File > Properties.
