Remove Redundant Namespace

In Perl when I replaceNode() I get an extra xlink namespace added to that particular node. Is there a way to prevent that from happening or to remove it?

- I am not adding ANY attributes.
- The namespace is NOT in the original node.

Granted.

If you mean in the original "replacing" node, it is practically certain it is inheriting a default xlink namespace from its ancestor.
