Hello,

Trying to find out if a raid 1 config can be undone without destroying data ? I have a Compaq DL360 with Smart Array setup in a Raid 1 using 2 18GB hds. We have run out of space and decided to forgo the security of having raid 1 for additional space. I've been trying to find a way to break the raid1 and make 2 arrays allowing me to use the full size of the two 18GB. I want 2 separate arrays, not 1 Raid5 array. I've physically removed the second disk which brakes the mirror and reconfigured a new array on the removed second disk. However, I'm unable to tell the Disk1 that it should not be used in an array setting anymore. If I delete the array, I loose all my data on first disk. Can this be done ?

Any ideas ?
