Hello,

I am very new to working with this phone system, and trying to hazard my way through these thick binders of programming information without having a basic understanding of the system isn't working well for me. So I thought I'd try asking here :)

Our office has employees frequently moving around the various cubicles. I can switch the extensions to follow them, but the coverage seems to be set per cubicle rather than per extension.

Lately I had extension 25 move directly across from me, which used to be occupied by extension 21, which had primary coverage set to my extension (10). However, even though extension 21 is no longer in use and at a different cube, extension 25 now rings on incoming calls instead of either after x rings, or not at all.

I'm trying to figure out how to remove all coverage from extension 25. I don't want it to ring at that desk unless someone in the office calls them or transfers a call to them. Is it possible to remove coverage from that phone all together?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The COVERAGE you describe sounds like it was on a BUTTON on extension 21.

When you "RENUMBERED" 21 to be 25, then 25 kept all of the programming 21 had.

You can simply go to extension 25, press INTERCOM, SPEAKER, Dial # 00 (Pound Zero Zero) and touch the button that is teh COVER button and then press DELETE.

-OR-

You can do the same with Centralized Programming from the Main Console.

Menu > Sys Program > Exit/Start > More > Cntrl Prog > Prog Ext > DIAL 25 > Press Enter, then make the change.

First of all, thank you for responding :)

I used the computer to look up which button would be assigned for extension 21 for primary coverage by using the quick access feature of telephone programming. Sure enough, primary coverage was assigned to the second button from the top on the left side.

I went to her extension, there was no intercom, but I pressed speaker, dialed #00, and touched the buttom that lit up that was assigned as a primary coverage.

After I hit that button, two buttons at the bottom of the phone lit up: HFAI/mic and speaker phone. I wasn't sure which button was supposed to be the delete button, so I pressed the "HFAI/mic" button, which didn't seem to do the trick.

The next thing I did was copy another extension with the programming I wanted over her extension, which actually seemed to have worked.

Is that an ok solution or was that wrong to do?

after pressing the button, try *21, then press button again.

Copying works, if for no other reason than you can not copy cover buttons.

Either way works.

What I originally suggested involved going into "STANDARD" SPM.
