I have created a Bootable Jumpstart DVD with Solaris x86 05/08. After the flash archive has been deployed and the system reboots; a prompt to choose the terminal type appears, and two prompts relating to setting up nfs4.

I have added these to the sysidcfg file:
terminal=xterms
nfs4_domain=dynamic

According to the manual this is correct. How can I disable the prompts?

Thanks,
Albert

here is a copy of my sysidcfg, I believe you are missing items to make it hands-off. mine is hands-off.

server (ce) 109 #cat *
system_locale=en_US.ISO8859-1
timezone=US/Pacific
timeserver=localhost
terminal=vt100
nfs4_domain=dynamic
name_service=DNS
{domain_name=sun.com
name_server=1.4.2.8,1.4.2.0}
security_policy=NONE
root_password=abcd/$trew
network_interface=ce0 {
netmask=255.255.255.0
protocol_ipv6=no
default_route=1.5.4.1}

now that I read your post again, I see what I put is not what you are asking.

as far as the NFS, I also have an entry in my finish script to disable the question prompting. I'm not sure why your terminal is not working, try a different terminal value.

touch ${B}/.NFS4inst_state.domain
chmod 644 ${B}/.NFS4inst_state.domain
chown root:root ${B}/.NFS4inst_state.domain

Thanks for the reply drj111

What should the value of B be? I assume /a/something? B returns a blank value when I make use of it, so the file cannot be created on the mounted CD (/). I have searched for the NFSinst_state.domain file and cannot find it on an installed system.

Does the above work on X86 Solaris. I have noticed some slight differences.

it is just a variable. my jumpstart server is a Sun x4600

I have not done a bootable jumpstart DVD, so it may be different for that. I have a multi-function server that happens to also be my jumpstart server. less complications the better.
