We just intalled a new server and sent it out. We used the old server.id file we had installed before upgrading, but now we want to take the password out so we can use the lotus domino service.

Help!!

It the minimun Pasword length was set when you created the ID you cant blank it out.

If it was set to 0 it can be done. On the server in the Domino Directory double click the nlnotes.exe program. Then goto File>Security>User Security Put in the Server Password Then click on Change Password

When you get into the Change Password area if there is a Button that says NO Password Your in luck and the Min length was set to 0. If you don't have that button that means there was a Minimum length set when the ID was creaded. I don't think there is any other way besides this one.

I had to recertify the server ID and set the password length to 0. Then I was able to change the password. Yea, I had to ask a Lotus Notes Admin from anther company to help me out. Oh well at least its done!!

Hmm....Never thought about recertying and set it to 0. I have a couple of servers that have passwords. I may have to try that.
