hi again, baybe this is a silly cuestion but, we have a four lims rai but the lim 4 isnt conectet allready so we have only three lims and one gs. is there any posibility to remove lim four from the rai withou having it conected?
thanks a lot
1. You can't do ANY changes in configuration, if one of the LIM (LIM4 in your case) is disconnected from GS (CNLIE command will not be accepted).
2. Theoretically, it is possible to remove LIM4 from system with 4 LIMs.
But in practice, it's easier to rebuild system from INL.
With the guranteed result.
In a four Lim system , it would be easier to
make a new 3Lims system .
If you are veeery careful lim4 can be removed (BC10-BC12).
By removing all data .
Move common function programs ,the proper way.
Kill the lim , after taking a backup of system
on a spare hdu as 4Lims system first(if anything goes wrong you can revert).
If the system is BC9 or lower lim4 can't be removed
caused by the common split unit DEMC ,
as this can't be moved to i/o lim or
lim2 that has DEMA or lim3 that has DEMB in it.
Removing DEMC from the system can't be done as this
gives corruption cause it holds neccesary data .
So in this case a new buildt 3Lims system is the only option .
A DEM.. unit can only have one instance of it in a lim.
And it can't be placed in i/o lim .
In a 4lim system it's distributed like this:
Lim1 None
Lim2 DEMA
Lim3 DEMB
Lim4 DEMC
So there is no place to move the DEMC to.
From bc10 DEMA-DEMZ is replaced by one unit DED
so that problem dont exist .
thanks a lot syar, sistem is bc10 so i think we have the posibylity to remove lim 4 from the sistem.
i didnt know that the demx is replaced by ded, so what do you mean? inside of ded there are all lims in sistem?
i dont know if we need to have the plex view, other wais coult you explain a bit more all of this in bc10 , would be very helpfull because actually we cant do anything .
thanks a lot all.
Hi Syar,
I admire your enthusiasm to explain difficult solutions to people not even knowing the SW-release of their system.
I think the only right answer is given by rfpui - rebuild system from INL. It will take 2 or 3 hours to do that, but there would be no problems later on. And - I am shure - the next answer will be "how can I do this?"
greetings
