1. What is the best way of moving from old PC to new PC. I have SBS 4.5 and with so many configuration to think of, can i do a ghost on this one. I am afraid that the hardware is much different that i might have problems. Any idea.

2. I need to transfer files from one server to another without losing the permission on the folders. Any utilities or is this a way using Win NT.

Thanks....

Install the new server on the LAN and have it join the existing domain. Use your documentation to reimplement all of the configuration (you can't use ghost if the hardware is different).

Restore data from backup which will retain the security and will also restore data the Admin doesn't have access to anyway.

Then shut down the old server and remove it from the domain.

Be sure you install the replacement system as a BDC so you can promote it to PDC (if that's what you want to do).
