I had a 4.10 server on our network of mostly 5.1 servers. After installing the wrong version of a service pack (and probably some other things) the server abended. I could not load DS and could not get to the server.
I decided to do an upgrade to 4.2 (the server uses SCSI Express which is not supported in v.5). I accidently selected new install instead of upgrade. When prompted for the server name (that is different from existing names) I deleted the old server from NDS and continued the install. Just before trashing the partitions, I realized my error and aborted the install. I restared with the upgrade option. All seems to have installed well.
My problem is DS is now loaded on this server, but the server is not in my tree. I need to delete DS and reinstall it. However, my admin password (from my tree which its not in) won't work. Is there any other way to delete DS without deleting the partition?
I guess I should have stayed home today!?!
