We are migrating our domain this weekend to a new name, and we have an issue where there are around 200 workstations with M$ AntiSpyware installed. The problem is that it appears that it blocks the agent from migrating the workstation into the new domain.

This means unless there is a way to automatically allow the agent to run, I will have to run a script, which uninstalls it across the network.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Why not run a script to disable the real time protection vs uninstalling?

I know with the pstools suite, you can run pskill and take out the MS Antispyware application. I'm not a scripting guru so I can't give you much help there, but I'd look at this method vs an un-install/re-install.

Additionally, and I haven't tried this (currently fried my test machine so I don't know if I'll get the chance to), look at copy out the antispyware database and pushing it to your machines on the network. It looks as if most of the database files (including exceptions to allow specific programs to run) are terminated with a .gcd extension.

So...

Make an exception on one system to allow the agent to run. Copy out the .gcd files, push them to a test machine and see if it works for you.
