But I would strongly advise against it. NUMBERS are for arithmetic calculations. A phone "number" has nothing at all to do with math. It is an IDENTIFIER. Leading ZEROS are significant. With numbers, they are not.

Yeah... I know. I would never normally do this. It is only because we are uploading a bunch of data to an agency that required the phone numbers have no hyphens... never heard of that before and I think they are making a mistake, but I have no choice. Thanks for the suggestion.
