When I change a file's extension, I always receive the message,

"If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable"

Does anybody know how to disable this message?

Thanks/

Hi linney,
What happens if you use the REN Command from a DOS Prompt?
The file is renamed without a warning message. It also takes considerably longer than renaming from Windows explorer when there are many files that need to be renamed, unless they are moved into seperate folders and renamed with
Code:
ren *.1st *.2nd
Is it possible to disable the warning message in Windows Explorer?

Probably it is not possible to do it with Explorer itself, although I could be wrong on that.

Did you look at that CKrename program which handles multiple renaming and file extensions? If I remember correctly the program also gives you a right-click option in Explorer to start it.

Some people even use other explorer type programs for managing files.

Thanks linney - I'll have a look at the renaming software, but an alternative "Explorer" is probably a better idea in any case.
