Remove Cognos From Upfront and ReportNet

We have a requirement here to remove references to Cognos in Upfront and ReportNet. Has anyone done this out there and, if so, how difficult is it?

Hi,

I haven't actually made changes to my work's Upfront and ReportNet portals, but I have made some simple alterations to the Upfront portal while on a training course.

Basically, the appearance of the portals are controlled by "themes". By altering / creating new themes, you can change the way your portals look (and replace all the cognos branding with whatever you like) - its just a matter of finding out what images etc you need to change and where you need to change them - For upfront, the "Upfront Developer Guide" contains instructions on how to customise your portal.

As for ReportNet, I dont know for sure, but I can't imagine it would be too different from customising Upfront.

Changing the cognos upfront portal and reportNet portal (Cognos Connection) are totally different. Like J mentioned you can create themes in Upfront (just follow the instructions in the Upfront Developer Guide).
ReportNet you will need the SDK (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT KIT). With the SDK you can customized the ReportNet portal or create your own. The SDK allows you to call all the ReportNet API's.
Upfront is limited on what you can change and do while customizing (it should not take more than a few days to accomplish) with ReportNet SDK you can do whatever you want so you really will need to difine your requirements and speficifications in order to estimate how long it would take.

For removing Cognos References in ReportNet, just edit the system.xml file. Open in notepad, find/replace text, & stop/restart services.

keep in mind, cognos documentation states that it is illeagal to remove cognos refernces (mainly About, Copy right informarion) from the Cognos Connection.

If u still want to go ahead, upfron it quite easy as others said above, edit the theme. Reportnet, i couldnot able to do, may be SDK an answer, but hav to work a lot on that, i am not interested.
