When you place an Excel spreadsheet in Page Break Preview to view only the populated cells, a "Page 1" Text appears in the background. How do I remove that. Or ensure that only that 1 page is shown.

Hi,

Page Break Preview shows you EXACTLY what will print on each page.

What is your question?

To ensure that only page 1 is shown:
File, Print, Pages 1 to 1, Preview
Then pagebreak Preview button.

However, I wonder if you are asking the wrong question.
PageBreakPreview is there to help you see the page breaks and adjust them. Are you sure you don't simply want printpreview (File, PrintPreview)

What's the problem with seeing the page numbers. It's for DISPLAY only.

If you don't want that, then change the View or, as Gavin has suggested, Print Preview.
