I'm having problems with Arcserve OFA.NLM. When I load OFA, I receive the following errors:

OFA: Trap error 05/02
OFA: Trap error 05/00
OFA: Trap error 02/05

I have a call into CA about this problem. They are telling me if I unload SNMP, it will work. However, when I try to unload SNMP, I have about ten other nlms to unload first as well as other nlms to unload from the first set of nlms and so on and so on. I'm afraid by unload all these nlms I'm going to abend the server. Is there a proper way of unloading SNMP? Is this protocol necssary in order to have a working server?

Here's my novell environment: Netware 5.1 with SP5. I'm running Arcserve 2000 Adv. on NT4. I have nwagent.nlm running and trying to get ofa.nlm to run.

This problem with ofa didn't start until I installed SP5. Before than, It was working beautiful.

Any suggestion?

Thanks,
B

Try the following:

in INETCFG / Manage Configuration / Configure SNMP Parameters / Trap State - change to Do not send traps. -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"
-----------------------------------------------------

For the record, asking you to unload SNMP is incompetent to say the very least. That just shows a very distinct lack of knowledge of both product and operating system. -----------------------------------------------------

could it not be SMP? There are alot of issues with multi processors and software.

If it is a compaq - edit startup.ncf rem cpqmpk.???
if it is another intel there may be a similar mpk file loading in startup.ncf. Try that and test.
