I removed Norton Personal Firewall 2001 and now I can't get WinME to load TCP/IP at all. If I remove TCP/IP the system will boot into normal mode. If I try to add TCP/IP back in the system crashes while Windows is updating the database. Is there any way to deal with this problem without a complete re-install?

I did not have system restore enabled.

Thanks in advance,
MikeS

Try the utility discussed in faq779-4625 (even though it says XP). I'm not sure that it will have any effect if TCP/IP is not installed, but it might be worth a try and certainly won't do any harm.
