Had a Seagate tape drive go bad and has been replaced but the problem is the drive does not show in Removable Storage but shows in computer management and it says it is working properly. No matter what job you submit nothing runs. If I submit an "Inventory" job, for example, it does nothing. It will run until the next reboot and show 0%. The only thing I can think of is the REM database got corrupted (or worse, removed). Any suggestions on how to restore that?

Thanks...........

When you added the tape device, did you reinstall Backup Exec?

What drivers are you using for the tape device?

Might want to stop services, reboot the backup server, start the services.

Didn't reinstall BE and we were using the BE drivers. We did do a reboot and a stop / start on the services. I'll run the install again and see what happens. It seems to run a backup to disk just fine but doesn't recognize the tape is there.

Thanks SQLBill and the rest of you for all the past advice!
