Remoting in with Hyperterminal or Procomm - How to?

OK,
I'm new to administering a Meridian PBX, but thanks to this forum I think I'm getting along OK.

I have 3 sites, one that is about 100 miles away from where I am.

I have been trying to remote into the switches using hyperterminal and procomm plus but can't get it to work. In both programs, it connects but nothing comes up on my screen. I can't type anything and only get a blinking cursor.

This is what i've tried:
Option 11Cs
VT-100 and VT-220 terminal
baud rate set at 9600
I don't know what protocol to use, i've been using zmodem
US Robotics Modem

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you use the VT220 emulation na dset the speed to 9600 Baud?

OK, i got it. I guess the switch is set up to require the SEB password when you dial in. Everything works great now.

But, I can't get the softkeys to work in MerMail. Any suggestions?

In procomm - Set your terminal type to VT320 with your keyboard as VT320

I see where to set the terminal type to vt320, but where do I set the keyboard to vt320?

You need to go to setup. Choose the data tab and then click the terminal button. Here you can choose your current terminal at the top. Also on the right hand side, there is a dropdown box for terminal keyboard file. You want to be sure both boxes are set to vt320.

Hey try this conf with Procomm

WYSE 75
7-N-1
Zmodem
9600 bps

or

VT320
7-N-1 or 7-E-1
Kermit
9600 bps

Hyperterminal should connect using:

VT100
8-N-1
9600 bps

But if you need to connect to MM.... hyperterminal will not work properly.
