IP Office 9.1 with Embedded VM. Customer wants to Remotely set Inclement weather greeting and turn on/off remotely. I have done this several times in the past with no issues but this one wont work. Created an Inclement Attendant with option 1 transfer to short code to record the greeting. Option 2 to short code to Set Hunt group Out of Service to main hunt group. Set option 3 transfer to short code to Clear Hunt group out of Service to main hunt group. All calls ring in to main hunt group. Created Weather hunt group to forward to the closed message. Set Out of service in main hunt group to go to Weather hunt group. I cannot get Option 2 or 3 off Inclement AA to work. Option 1 works and allows me to record. Option 2 and 3 says Not available. All internal testing works - short codes direct set and clear hunt group out of service. I can dial the Weather hunt group and get the correct recording. I just will not work when trying to do this off an Auto Attendant.
Any suggestions?

You could also set a user variable to 1 or 0 instead. 1= inclement, 0 = normal

check the value of that variable and route calls accordingly. If it's 0, route to the hunt group, if it's 1, route to a greeting and the AA.

Are you using Transfer or Normal Transfer for option 2 and 3, to set and clear the Main Group from OOS

I have a colleague of mine in the office that has same issue and he has a ticket open with Avaya about it.. Does not matter if it was Normal Transfer or Transfer off AA. Would not set the HG OOS or NS.. But short codes in system worked..He has not heard back from them them as of today

Outside lines/external callers don't have the ability to directly effect such things on embedded, it's a security feature among other things, Avaya will tell you as much if they respond :)

I would have to agree with amriddle about being a security feature.. No way to lock it down with embedded..

Thanks for the replies. Customer has 9.1.2. I have a test box here which had 9.0.6 and had the same issues. The other systems that i had this working on were 9.0.5 and below. Downgraded my test box to 9.0.5 and it works as intended.

Here have been "security enhancements" aplenty since then, plus it's not a documented feature so Avaya will not even look at it :)
