I need to remotely power down and then up an Octel 200. I do have someone onsite who will be able to hit the power switch but they won't be able to log into the system. If I log in remotely and do the "SHUTDOWN" command on the Octel, how will the system start running again later? I won't be able to log in to run the "STARTUP" command. Would I be better off just forgetting the shutdown command and having them hit the power switch to turn it off?

@RESTA will just restart the OCTEL.
I would recommend that you check the hard disks before by @DEX 1 (printout should show 000000 in all fields), and get some one to switch off the system, wait for 3 minutes and turn it on again.
What is the purpose of this?
A @RESTA will do the job in most cases.

Our location is getting a new generator. We will be powering off Friday night and leaving everything off for about 24 hours. Once generator is in and all power cords moved over, we will turn everything back on. Should I skip the shutdown command? Can I run the DEX 1 command ahead of time? Thank you, Kimberly

I would do a @DEX 1 before shutting down the Octel.
Just power it off, but there is guarantee that it comes up.
